1. WHAT KIND OF WARRANTY DOES NOVAIR PROVIDE ON THEIR UNITS?

Warranty & Protection Plans

a. What is the standard manufacturer warranty on Novair units?

Novair provides a Limited Manufacturer Warranty consisting of 5 years for parts and 5 years for the compressor. This is the primary warranty provided by Novair for the equipment itself, regardless of the installer or building type.

b. How does the 2025 Residential Homeowner Upgrade work?

For residential systems installed on or after January 1, 2025, Novair offers an enhanced 10-year parts, 10-year compressor, and 10-year labour warranty. This extended coverage is a supplemental benefit provided by Novair at no additional cost, provided the following strict criteria are met:

  • The system is installed by an Authorized Novair Contractor.

  • The contractor completes the official Novair registration within the required timeframe.

  • The system is installed for an individual resident (homeowner, tenant, or condo owner).

c. Does Novair take responsibility for warranties offered by contractors?

No. All Novair Authorized Contractors are independent businesses. They are not agents, partners, or employees of Novair.

Because we do not sell directly to end-users, your contract for installation and service is exclusively with your contractor. From time to time, a contractor may elect to provide their own private warranty or a third-party protection plan instead of Novair’s program.

  • If a contractor chooses an alternative warranty or fails to register the system with Novair, Novair’s liability is limited strictly to our standard 5-year parts and 5-year compressor warranty.

  • Any additional promises, labour guarantees, or extended terms offered by a contractor are the sole responsibility of that contractor.

d. What is the policy for Developers and Commercial properties?

The 10-year residential upgrade is not available for commercial entities or large-scale projects. For multi-dwelling buildings over two stories (such as high-rise complexes or apartment buildings managed by a developer), the standard 5-year parts and 5-year compressor warranty applies. Any coverage beyond these terms must be explicitly authorized in writing within the specific project contract.

e. I own a condo—am I a "Homeowner" or a "Developer"?

If you are an individual owner or tenant purchasing a unit for your personal residence, you are a homeowner. You are eligible for the 10-year upgrade (for 2025+ installs) if you use an authorized contractor who registers the unit.

However, units installed en masse by a developer for an entire building project are capped at the standard 5-year warranty.

f. What about systems installed before 2025?

Novair units installed prior to January 1, 2025, are governed by the warranty terms in place at the time of installation. Please refer to the specific contract provided by your original HVAC contractor for details on your parts and labour coverage.

2. HOW ENERGY-EFFICIENT ARE NOVAIR HEAT PUMPS?

Novair systems are designed for high efficiency during both heating and cooling seasons.

Typical operating ranges:

  • Annual heating + cooling: around $600/year

  • Coldest winter months: as low as $120/month

  • Summer cooling: approximately $1/day per indoor unit

  • Most homes see a 2–3 year return on investment depending on usage, home size, and regional climate.

For more detailed performance guides, refer to the Novair Blog.

3. DOES NOVAIR SELL DIRECTLY TO HOMEOWNERS?

Heat pumps require certified HVAC installation to ensure safety, electrical compliance, refrigerant handling, and eligibility for warranty coverage.

We will gladly connect homeowners with a licensed Novair installer in their region.
